Planet Espresso

Planet Espresso currently has two Espresso Bars at Auckland City Hospital (ADHB is one of Auckland largest employers), where we have been trading since 1994, that are also owned and directed by Rob and Anna McGregor the founders of Coffee Lab.

This Planet Espresso site won the New Zealand Retail Design award in 2004 which is an espresso bar with two four group La Marzocco espresso machines and four Mazzer Robur grinders. You will find four baristas working together to serve both expertly & quickly the masses of professionals & aficianados who love a good coffee to fuel their day. We were inspired to start roasting during our years of operating Planet Espresso as we continued the search for better quality coffee from bean to cup and when the opportunity arose we jumped in with great gusto.

Our baristas have been in the top 4 placings in the Auckland Regional and NZ Final Barista Competitions & the NZ latte Art Competitions in 2008/2009, and Kristiane is the inaugural 2010 NZ Coffee Cup tasting Champion. Krisse is now the Planet Espresso manager and serves up great espresso at our Planet Espresso sites when she is not helping with the fine roasting production at Coffee Lab. We believe it is essential to have a working knowledge of coffee in every area to keep your finger on the pulse of great coffee.

Planet Espresso has become a vibrant essential tool for the ADHB family and we are proud to make awesome coffee available to the excellent people in this fine establishment.
