Kristiane won the inaugural and highly sought after New Zealand Coffee Cup Tasting Championship. She had the honour of representing New Zealand in the London 2010 World Trade Show. Krisse didn't place in this competition, but it was however an incredible learning experience to be there with the world's best of the World Coffee Industry.

Description
Planet Espresso won this award for the new fitout design in our espresso bar inside Auckland City Hospital on Level 5. We worked with the designer to make this a stunning and practical work space. Our focus here was for customers to be able to talk to and order from the barista and recieve prompt individualised service. Customers can go to any one of the four stations, order from any one of the four baristas, and wait as the barista makes their espresso directly.
This marked the first espresso bar in NZ and possibly the world with two four group La Marzocco espresso machines on one counter with four baristas manning the machines and serving top quality espresso. This venue is just about serving up awesome coffee to our awesome customers.
Having manned many manically busy espresso bars, Anna"s vision for this was to be a venue where a team of baristas could work together and see the order through from customer request to delivery of the personlised espresso to the customer on the spot. Also a venue where one barista did not have to bear the load of the busy morning alone but have the opportunity to have time to make a great coffee every time and still see customers served quickly. How many times have you waited 15-20 minutes for a coffee in other venues...not the case here! We have shown this can be also done in style!
